There are Signed Books, and Then There are SIGNED Books

New arrivals for our signed books section are always fun to price. We acquired three signed political pieces this morning, two of which are SIGNED, and one of which is signed. "Why the differentiation ?"  you ask. I reply: "Cause !
Leo Rangell, M.D.'s The Mind of Watergate is obviously SIGNED - or technically, Inscribed - because it's inscribed, dated, and has a program in it from Doctor R's Man of the Year Award's Banquet in 1981. Not a terribly pricey book, but still good shelf stock at $ 25.00

Chef Hans Karl Adam's International Wine and Food Society's Guide to German Cookery is also SIGNED, and as a later printing is sound shelf stock at $ 35.00

President Lyndon Baines Johnson's The Vantage Point: Perspectives of the Presidency 1963 - 1969 is a signed book. This one is, of course, a fine first edition, as are most of our books It has a signed bookplate on the half title page  The plate is pretty- glossy white with the Presidential Seal and LBJs initials in gold. It also has Johnson's signature on the plate Is it SIGNED ? No. Is it signed ? Yes. LBJ's official signature is there, but the signing was done by an auto pen, i.e., a signing device that does the signing for a great man, usually operated by a secretary.
But, credible shelf stock at $125.00.
