Modern Library Books

Our friend, Maryann, a local Las Vegas author, has developed a fascination for Modern Library Books. Our friends, Michael and Andy deserted us to open a fine bookstore in Horse Cave, Kentucky. We all still talk and interact, and Michael sent us an interesting piece on Modern Library books. You might also want to check our previous post on Modern Librarys after you look at this:

Unfortunately, no citation came from Michael, but since he's trustworthy, here it is:

Designing a Liberal Arts Curriculum using Modern Library titles
Why Modern Library?
From it's inception, the Modern Library was intended to be a collection of Literary Classics. Today, many homeschooling families are building their own curriculum returning to a more "Classical" education.

We included some subject areas beyond a typical Liberal Arts Curriculum, well, because we could.
Modern Library books are compact, easy to handle, sturdy and in many cases collectible. There are many series books for younger homeschool children to read, use and collect, but few for the high school age student, especially those preparing for college. Utilizing Modern Library Titles inspire both the scholar and book collector in a student.
